Welcome!  First of all, thanks for taking the time to find out a little bit more about me.  If we end up working together in the future, I look forward to learning about you, and hopefully we have something in common!

I'm a very curious person by nature, and I love to learn, and that's what drew me to the world of court reporting.  Every day I learn something new, and it's my privilege to be in a profession that lets me peek into people's everyday lives.

I started my first part-time job as a pump jockey when I was just 14 years old at Pepper's Highway Service in Waskatenau, Alberta, and to this day I can fill your car, wash your windows, and check your oil in about ten minutes' time.

After working several jobs in the service industry after graduating high school, I decided it was time to head to NAIT and enroll in what was then called the Legal and Realtime Reporting program.  I graduated with honours in 2008 and began my court reporting career as a Certified Shorthand Reporter with Snow's Court Reporting, a firm with a long history and a great reputation, and that's where I remained until 2015 when I reached out to a colleague of mine, Jeff Weigl at WizCap Realtime Reporting.  I was eager to learn and grow in my profession, and at WizCap I was provided unwavering support, encouragement, and education.

During my time at WizCap, I was afforded the luxury of exploring other avenues in this career that I love so much.  I love working with students, and I was a contract teacher in the evenings for the Captioning and Court Reporting program at NAIT.  I've also sat on the board for the Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association as treasurer, and that's where I've made some of my closest friends.

In the last couple of years, I attained my Registered Professional Reporter designation, and I also travelled to Honolulu where I attained my Hawaii Certified Shorthand Reporter designation.  I'm definitely a steno nerd at heart, and I could go on forever about why I love this career.  If you want more information, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn!

When I'm not on the record, I love to travel -- especially disappearing into the backcountry for some tenting and hiking -- and I love to cook, bake, read, and head out on the trails for a run to melt the day's stress away.  And, of course, I love to spend time with loved ones and friends.  I don't know where I'd be without their love, support, and guidance.
